Feeling Me

Shirt: Primark
Skirt: Forever Twenty One
Clutch: New Look
Heels: Primark

Sometimes you have to dress for your mood. Or maybe you've seen a look or a way of styling something in your wardrobe that you want to recreate. Then there are those outfits you know are one hundred percent you. This is one of them.

When I went for a much needed night out after a stressful week last Monday, I put together this look which included all my favourite things to wear. The best way to always feel happy and comfortable with what your wearing is to find out what makes you feel you, and reinvent these things in different ways.

I'm sure I must have about ten or more chiffon shirts and I still can't get enough! I love tucking them into skirts or combining them with a cosy jumper for the colder days.

Next, I added my a quirky, vintage inspired necklace that I picked up from a little vintage shop in the Summer. I bought this skirt from Forever Twenty One a few weeks ago because I fell in love with the bright floral print which matched my coral New Look clutch bag perfectly!

I wore my Primark strappy heels as I thought they went nicely with the sophisticated look of the shirt and because I will rarely be seen on a night out in flats! I feel good when I'm wearing heels and I need the height to be honest.
Finally I wore a big black bow in my hair because bows are my favourite! That is my only explanation.

In conclusion, things that make me feel me include:

  • A chiffon shirt and skirt combo
  • Vintage style jewellery
  • Florals
  • Heels
  • Bows
What is your "Feeling Me" outfit?

Better Late Than Never

Necklace: Topshop
Top: Topshop
Jacket: Primark
Skirt: Topshop
Heels: Irregular Choice

So My Petite Closet has been neglected recently. Since I've been back to Uni I've been so busy settling into my new house and my second year that my poor blog has been forgotten about. But tonight I thought I would make a blogging come back! No, these aren't the best pictures, they are a little dark and blurry but I was determined to post something tonight. So here are some blurry pictures of my outfit last Saturday night. Better late than never!

I bought this cropped jacket from Primark last month for £17, which at the time I thought was a little pricey for Primark. But I have been loving dressing it up for an evening look and down for a more casual daytime outfit. The pink and red roses on black is a great way of wearing the Autumn/Winter dark florals trend! For this look I decided to bring out the pink colours in the jacket by wearing my baby pink cami top from Topshop and matching Irregular Choice heels.

I am hoping that this post is the beginning of me getting back into the swing of blogging and I don't have to write a "Better Late Than Never" Part Two. Fingers Crossed!

Turning Twenty!

Playsuit: River Island
Necklace: Liberty Blue
Belt: Primark
Heels: Primark

Last Saturday, (21st of September), was my birthday and I turned twenty! Yikes. Turning twenty isn't considered one of the bigger birthdays like turning eighteen or twenty one where it is seen as a "milestone" age, but it really does feel like one. It's kind of exciting to think about all the things my twenties could bring me! I have two decades of life experience behind me, but I can't ever imagine a time where I am not asked for ID, or receive a shocked reaction after someone asks me my age. It's safe to say I could look twelve forever.

For my birthday, I had the nice experience of one of those days where you just have nothing to wear. I would usually have an outfit planned in advance, but this year my plan was to treat myself to something new to wear. This didn't end up happening which meant the time I would normally spend getting ready was spent chucking clothes around and trying on millions of outfits, none of which felt right. Finally, I opted for my River Island playsuit. This playsuit has accompanied me on many nights out before. I usually keep it really simple to make it look quite chic. On Saturday, I changed it up a bit and added some quirky touches to the look to give it a different feel. I added my skinny lilac belt from Primark and my matching lilac ribbon in my hair. Then I wore my Alice in Wonderland necklace from Liberty Blue in Belfast. These simplistic strappy heels have been a huge hit for bloggers and I couldn't help but join in with all the fuss. I think it helps to compliment the elegant look of the playsuit without taking away from my quirky accessories.

After all the outfit kerfuffle, I could relax and celebrate. I went to TGI Fridays for a nice meal, got lots of lovely treats from my friends and family and went out afterwards to Limelight in Belfast. Phew! Celebrating can be exhausting. Or maybe I'm just getting old?

P.S. Did anyone notice my new hair?

Just Because It's Autumn...

Crop Top: Thnk Apparel
Dungarees: Topshop
Black Boots: Primark

Just because it's Autumn doesn't mean I can't wear my dungarees, right? These were great for pulling on in the summer and I wasn't prepared to give them up yet. So I decided to style them with tights to make the most of my summer favourite while still keeping warm as the weather gradually gets more cold. Boo! I hate being cold.

I went for a very casual and relaxed look. I added my bright lipstick to add a little red to an overall colourless oufit. On my lips I am wearing Rio Rio by Topshop

The light denim makes these dungarees easy to pair with lots of other colours. I will be definitely be whipping these out throughout Autumn, teaming them with some jumpers, layers and a lot more tights! Stay tuned.

What is your Just Because It's Autumn outfit?

P.S. On a very random note, this is the outfit that I was wearing when my Dad decided he would randomly bring a goat home. Yes, a real goat. Apparently we are borrowing him for a few weeks so my Dad doesn't have to cut the grass. At least things are kept interesting around here...

Beauty Wish List

Today's post has been brought to you by aimlessly browsing online and a small bank balance. I really like reading Wish Lists as you sometimes can see something really special that you missed while doing your own browsing. Also, it makes you feel like your not alone when putting together your own mental wish list. I know you all do it!

First on the list is the Benefit World Famous Neutrals Eyeshadow Kit. I've tried this kit out before and it is just so good! The cream pots create a really nice crease less finish which is perfect for daytime wear, but can also be built up with the other shades for a night time smokey eye. I need this.

Every time I have a look at The Body Shop make-up, it's always this bronzer I get drawn to. It has such a lovely fine and smooth texture. The built in mirror and the really cute little compact also makes it a nice little handbag filler!

If you like a good beauty blog like me, the next item on the list will be no surprise! The Bourjois Colour Boost Lip Crayons have been a huge hit among the bloggers. I picked out this colour, Peach on the Beach (what a cute name) which is a beautiful peachy, pink. This made the list purely because I want to find out what all the fuss is about!

I've been on the hunt for a good high lighter and this Soap & Glory one gives a really nice natural glow with some light pink tones. Not to mention another cute little compact. I love my compacts!

I've been experimenting a bit with contouring lately and I thought the Real Techniques Setting Brush was the perfect size for a good contour brush. Plus it will go nicely with my Real Techniques collection.

What is on your Beauty Wish List?

The Shopaholic Series by Sophie Kinsella

“I love new clothes. If everyone could just wear new clothes everyday, I reckon depression wouldn't exist any more.”

When you can't afford to shop, sometimes reading about the latest trends in magazines can get you through. The Shopaholic books are just like that. Only the detailed descriptions of the different steps of shopping almost can recreate that same buzz, of finding something you love and making it yours.  From spotting that perfect dress, to trying it on, to falling in love with it, to convincing yourself that it is worth the price tag and finally being handed it over the counter in a crisp new bag. These books are perfect for any shopaholic out there who wants to relive the reason why shopping feels so good!

Sophie Kinsella has invented the fantastic heroine Becky Bloomwood who loves to live in her own world. This can sometimes get her into trouble and she never learns her lesson. Confessions of a Shopaholic follows her through her rapid imagination as it jumps from shopping to far-fetched dreams while trying to make it through reality. These books are a really easy, pick-me-up read. Becky Bloomwood is a hilarious character who we can all relate to when you find yourself wishing for all life's beautiful things. It make's me sad to think that she isn't a real person because I think we could have really hit it off!

After seeing the film Confessions of a Shopaholic many times, I wasn't very keen to read the book as I thought I would find it predictable because I know the film so well. But when I found a copy in a charity shop I thought I'd give it a whirl! A few chapters in, I noticed that although the book includes all the same characters, the general plot is quite different. So if you love the film like me, don't let this put you off. Also this series gives you the chance to follow Becky through new stages of her life.

I can't wait to curl up tonight with a Shopaholic book! I'm just starting Shopaholic & Sister and so far, it's not let me down!

Have you read any of the Shopaholic books?

Vera Wang Lovestruck Floral Rush

50ml Available Here

The new Marc Jacobs fragrance, Honey has just been realised and it seems like almost every blogger I follow and their mums and their daughters, and their cat's cousin's sister has gone out and bought it for themselves. So needless to say there has been a lot of hype around the new fragrance in blogger land. I've also read a lot of posts on perfumes such as Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess, Marc Jacobs Daisy, Miss Dior, Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy and other more popular scents. But I believe I have found a little hidden gem that hasn't received the attention it deserves in my new Vera Wang eau de parfum. (I feel fancy calling it that!)

I bought this perfume in duty free at the beginning of the month, I also had a voucher so I got quite a good little deal on this if I do say so myself! It was the amazing bottle that drew me in first of all. This looks so good proudly sitting on my desk, I don't think I will be able to throw this away once it's finished! I love anything with a bow, and this huge purple one around the plastic flowers on the lid just makes me so happy inside! The only downside is the bottle isn't exactly travel friendly, as you can see. You might have trouble throwing this is in your handbag.

Describing a scent is not a very easy thing to do, but I will give it my best shot! As you can imagine, there are floral tones in the scent but I wouldn't say it was very strongly floral. I would describe it as a muted, almost musty floral scent. It smells very feminine and sophisticated.

The one thing I found to be a bit of a let down with Vera Wang Lovestruck Floral Rush is that I find I have to top it up during the day. The length of time that you can smell the scent on your skin is slightly disappointing.

If you haven't tried this yet, I highly recommend that you do! I have been loving wearing it this month! I believe the 30ml bottle is on sale in boots for just £20 at the minute if you would like to try a small bottle first and see how you like it!

What perfume have you been wearing this month?

Bank Holiday Weekends

Floral Crown: Primark
Dress: Topshop
Belt: Primark

The fact that this weekend is a bank holiday weekend, to be honest, does not effect me at all at the minute. I don't start my second year of university until October and so, until then, I consider myself completely free! This meaning, that while everyone else is enjoying their extra day off and a nice extra hour or two in bed,for me this weekend will be the same as all my other weekends so far this summer! Saying that, I really don't like the sound of this "Bank Holiday Monday". There is something about a bank holiday to me that doesn't sound appealing. It reminds me of reality, work and that another year of studying is just around the corner. Goodbye freedom.

Clothes wise, I am going through a bit of a "transitional stage". I am gradually starting to introduce Autumn clothing into my life again as there is just a few days left of August. Hence the tights! I love, skirts, dresses and shorts, all year round so I will give you a little heads up and let you know that you will see a lot more tights! I pretty much live in them through the colder months!

I am still grasping onto my floral crowns for as long as I can this year, (I love them!), and yesterday I teamed it with my Topshop prom dress to continue the floral theme. I wore my Irregular Choice, "Fairies in a Jar" heels for a pop of a bright colour on my feet. Next, I decided to toughen the look up a little with my spiked necklace and studded black belt.

How have you spent your Bank Holiday Weekend?

That Prom Dress Feeling

Head Scarf: Vintage
Necklace: Topshop
Dress: Primark
Belt: River Island
Brogues: Primark

I'm one of those people who dress according to their mood. Today for some reason, I had a craving to wear my Primark prom dress. Underneath, the dress has sown in netting to make it puff outwards which I love! It has a really pretty blue and red porcelain pattern and it works for both day and night outfits. I added my tan belt from River Island and my matching Primark brogues to "casualise", (I think I invented this word, but I like it, maybe it will catch on?) the outfit.

Dresses like this feel so good to walk around in. Even as you sit down and the material falls elegantly over your knees, a dress like this instantly can make you feel a little more sophisticated. As it floats around you when you walk and swishes to the side when you turn, I've decided to call it "the prom dress feeling". Apparently today is a day for creating new words and phrases on here!

I love those days when you wake up and know exactly what you want to put on. There's nothing worse that throwing around the clothes in you wardrobe and having absolutely nothing to wear! I know you've all been there!

Do you like that prom dress feeling?

Autumn/Winter 2013

We've made it to mid August. That was quick! Every summer always ends up passing us by faster than we expected it to. But still, you never get used to it and every year you wonder how it has gone so fast! Maybe next year I will be prepared.
Before you get into grieving for the end of Summer 2013, let's lighten the mood by introducing you to a few reasons to look forward to Autumn and Winter. I've picked out a some of my favourite upcoming trends for Autumn/Winter 2013 to minimize the "end of summer blues". Also to let you know what you're in for. Don't worry, it's going to be good!

Fur Coats
This year coats are getting bigger and furrier. There's something sophisticated about a fur collar on a long coat and if it keeps me warm, it's a yes from me.

Grunge
I've actually mentioned this trend a few times on my blog already. Slogan tees, feminine pieces with an edge and layering makes grunge.

Pink
For this one I'm going to give in to the stereotypical girl inside me and admit that, yes, I am very excited for all the pink clothes this Autumn/Winter. Burgundy has had it's time during the colder months. Now its pink's turn.

Dark Florals
The summer favourite has made it through to next season. Dark florals are making an appearance this year. Team a dress like this one with tights and some chunky boots and nail two trends in one by adding a grunge edge to your look.

Tartan
After a very 90's fashion based summer, it would seem Autumn/Winter is moving onto looks from 90's films with this Clueless inspired tartan trend.

Right now it is hard to imagine waking up in the morning and reaching for a long, furry coat and tartan scarf. I've been wearing nothing but skirts, dresses and shorts for the past few months, my legs are going to be so disappointed to be put away until next year. Having said that there are so many things about Autumn and Winter to look forward to as well. My birthday for one, having a reunion with everyone from university, Christmas, (is it too early to get excited for Christmas?) and of course I can't wait to see how my favorite high street shops interpret these new styles!

Which Autumn/Winter 13 trends are you looking forward to?

How to DIY Stud Denim Shorts

I've discovered a quick, easy and inexpensive way of updating your old denim! Studs are on everything at the minute and it is so simple to add this edgy touch to your clothes yourself at home! I've gone for some Levi cut offs, but these studs can be added to just about anything! Perfect for the A/W 13 grunge trend!

You will need...

  • Denim shorts, (or whatever you want to customise)
  • Studs, Available here
  • A knife

Step One...

1. Choose where you want your studs to be and what design or shape you would like them in. Then take the stud and push it through the fabric until the four spikes are visible on the other side.

Step Two...

2. Flip the fabric over to the other side where you will see the four spikes from the stud coming through. Using your knife, push the four spikes inwards.

Step Three...
3. Continue this process to create your design!

Tah Dah!
An old pair of shorts with a whole new look, in three easy steps!

Let me know if you have tried this out!

Moments of Monochrome

Leather Jacket: New Look
Necklace: Primark
Top: Topshop
"Treggings": Topshop
Pumps: Ebay

Things have been a little different this summer. Firstly, we have had hot weather. A very rare occurrence for summer in Ireland, and secondly, instead of browsing round the shops and being blinded by bright colours, this year has hit us with monochrome. Hmm, very peculiar.

I got these "treggings" (half trouser, half leggings) on my first trip to Leeds to visit a friend from Uni on her birthday. I tried these on in Topshop and my friends insisted that I buy them! Hence why I came home from uni this year with twice as much clothes as I left with (I left with a lot of clothes) and why I spent the last few weeks of term living off the cheapest food I could find in Tescos and Revolution's £5 nights out.
Patterned trousers, or "treggings" as the Topshop website calls them, can be a little scary. But these ones stand out without being too OTT.

Monochrome is a really easy look to achieve. Everyone has some black and white in their wardrobe so dig them out and recreate the simple yet chic summer trend! I've added some pops of purple to my monochrome outfit with my purple T-bar pumps and with Mac's "Up The Amp" lipstick.

Have you had a moment of monochrome yet?

Stylespiration: Jade Thirlwall

Jade Thirlwall from X Factor girl band, Little Mix has a wardrobe I've had my envious eye on. Her quirky, cute style is very similar to how I love to dress! With plenty of preppy collars, bows and dungarees her youthful look is perfect for some "stylespiration".
Seen here wearing a Chanel inspired tweed short and blazer combo, the touches of pink and heels with socks keeps the outfit looking less "office" and more red carpet worthy.
I absolutely love this outfit! It is 90's meets Minnie Mouse which is a combination I definitely like the sound of! Also Jade wouldn't be Jade without her braces, the simple and charming touch to basic denim shorts.
Her spotty crop top and dungaree dress here are both available at New Look. Anyone recognise her shoes? Yep. They are Irregular Choice "Fairies in a Jar", my newest addition to my Irregular Choice collection. You can read my blog post on them and see pictures here. Nice choice Jade!
I love the touches of red in this look. The polka dot dungaree dress is also available at New Look. The oversized coat and trainers keeps the outfit casual while still, overall looking feminine.

There you have it! A few examples of why Little Mix's Jade Thirlwall gets a My Petite Closet seal of approval. I want your clothes Jade.

Who is your Stylespiration?

The Liebster Award!

We've been pretty excited over here at My Petite Closet HQ over the past few daysas we have been nominated by Teen Diary for the Liebster Award! (Yayyyy!) So I'd like to say a huge thank you for the nomination and I'd like to ask all who reads this to go over and check out her blog!

So in case your unfamiliar with the award, it is basically a way of creating awareness of really good blogs which have a limited amount of followers. It's a really nice way of giving back to those who put lots of thought and work into their blogs by getting them more recognised. I'm so happy that My Petite Closet fallen into this category and been nominated for the award! There are a few rules and steps to do in order to confirm your nomination...

The rules:

You must link back to the person that nominated you.

You must answer the 11 Liebster questions given to you by the nominee before you.

You must pick 11 bloggers to be nominated for the award with under 200 followers.

You must come up with 11 questions for your nominees to answer.

You must go to their blogs and notify your nominees.

The 11 questions:

1. If you could change one thing about yourself what would it be?
I'm quite shy, so I'd probably choose to be more confident.

2. Who do you think is the most fashionable celebrity couple?
Beyonce and Jay-Z always look amazing.

3. As kids, we all have horrible fashion days. What was your worst outfit?
This was more of an "accessory" (if you can call it that), but it was definitely a bad idea! My first ever concert was Steps when I was about seven or eight, and at the concert my aunty bought be this black hair band that had two springs coming out of the top of it which had sparkly silver tassels dangling from them. I remember I thought it was so cool and I wore it casually during the day for about a week! I wore it to school and everything! Hahaha oh dear.

4. If you could get your hands on any wardrobe, whose would it be?
I love Olivia Palermo's outfits. She always looks so stylish and sophisticated. I'd love to get my hands on her wardrobe.

5. What's your favourite trend of 2013?
I have been enjoying getting very nostalgic by going back to the clothes of my childhood with the 90's trend! I've been loving wearing crop tops and dungarees and I hope they never go out of style again!

6. If we only had one season throughout the whole year, which one would you prefer?
Probably Winter. I love Christmas and the whole season with all the pretty lights on the streets and late night shopping! Plus I like wearing layers and cosy Winter clothes.

7. How do you see yourself 10 years from now?
Ohh tough one. I think I'd love to have my own dance classes and my own dance studio. With little performances every now and then with my dancers performing my choreography. That would be pretty cool. I also love cities, so hopefully I'll be living in a city somewhere.

8. What's your favourite memory?
Another tough one. Considering I was so young, I remember pretty clearly the day my little sister was born. My aunty picked me and my brother up from school and we went to the hospital to meet our new sibling for the first time. My aunty knew that we had just gotten a new little sister, but she wouldn't tell us and we spent the whole car journey in suspense trying to get it out of her. We bought my sister a little teddy on the way who was wearing a cute little jumper and when we got there we set it beside her in her cot. I remember I was so shocked by this tiny little bear being bigger than my little sister. Then I looked into the cot and sang happy birthday to her.

9. Who do you look up to as a person and why?
There is a lot of people I look up to, but one of the big ones, who has been featured a lot in this post, is my aunty Theresa. She has done so many amazing things and has been lots of places over the world. I love hearing her stories of all her crazy adventures and she always has little sayings and words of wisdom for me to memorise every time I see her. The last time I saw her she kept saying "feel the fear and do it anyway!" to remind me not say no to something just because it sounds a bit scary.

10. What do you think is your best feature?
VERY tough one haha. I have been pretty lucky and haven't had to have braces like my brother and sister. My teethe are quite straight and white so I'd probably say my smile.
11. What's the most precious item in your room?
I have a little shoe box hidden away with tickets, and cards and little bits that I have kept as memories from some special days I've had over the past few years. So I'd say my little memory box!

Here are my eleven nominations for the award, thank you for your fantastic blogs giving me regular reading material and entertainment!

My eleven questions for you are:

1. Why did you decide to start a blog?

2. What is your current skincare regime?

3. Who is your celebrity style crush?

4. If you could travel anywhere in the world where would it be and why?

5.What is your favourite high street shop?

6. Who is the first person you turn to for advice?

7. What would you say is your worst habit?

8. What childhood dreams have you fulfilled?

9.What new dreams would you like to fulfil?

10. Do you collect anything?

11.What was the best gift you ever received?

Phew! That was harder than I thought it would be!

Raised in Pink Leather

Tee Shirt: Primark Mens Section
Pink Leather Skirt: H&M
Boots: Primark

I bought this skirt from H&M to go with a cropped denim shirt for a night out. It has been lonely and waiting in my wardrobe ever since. Pieces like this which are part of my "evening wardrobe" tend to get a lot less attention than my more casual clothes. So in order to get more use out of it, I decided to team it with "everyday" clothes to tone it down, making it wearable and transforming it into a casual skirt.

If your a fan of over sized tee shirts, I recommend having a look in the Primark men's section. This simple black and white one is so easy to wear. I love how simple it is with block black and white colours and the loose, baggy look compliments the body con shape of the skirt. It says "Mama Raised No Fool" by the way, hence the title. That's a true story too you know. I am "no fool".

One of the big trends for Autumn/Winter 13 is "grunge" which is feminine pieces like dresses and skirts teamed with relaxed clothes like boots and layers. This is my summer interpretation of the upcoming trend.

What do you think of my newly casual leather skirt?

Fairies in a Jar

Do I need to say any more? These little beauties are my new addition to my Irregular Choice collection. I'll give you a second to scroll up and look at them again. Shoes like this you don't look at just once!

Irregular Choice is my absolute favourite brand for shoes at the minute. I bought my first pair after getting an Irregular Choice bag as a Christmas gift and deciding I needed the matching shoes too! From that day, there was no going back. I mean that literally. My shoe standards were raised on that day, and they haven't come down yet! I have simply been unable to find any other shoes on the high street that compare.

There are so many reasons why these shoes are so special, but first and foremost what I must praise, what I'm most thankful for, and what heels have been in desperate need of for a long time, is the delicious comfort! I will not lie. This year has been my first year at university and I've been on a lot of nights out. It is definitely risky going on a night out in Liverpool where clubs are open until four a.m., in a pair of heels when you have a two hour practical dance class the next morning. But I did it. Thanks to Irregular Choice my feet were perfectly comfortable and fine in dance the next day! Yes!

These are "Fairies in a Jar", and are my fifth pair of Irregular Choice. Each pair comes with a really cute shoe box which I like to keep as part of the collection. Irregular Choice shoes are always so dainty and quirky with bright colours and unique designs. They are perfect for catching the eye if you want to add something special to a simple outfit. Although they can be a little on the pricey side at times, I definitely would say they are worth investing in. The quality is just fantastic so you know they will last and you can guarantee there will be no one else wearing heels quite as special as yours! When I wear mine I always get so many comments and compliments.

"Fairies in a Jar" are available in other colours too, you can find them here IN THE SALE if you want to snap up a pair for yourself and I really recommend you do, you will thank me!

What's your favourite brand for shoes?

I Heart Summer Tag

Thank you so much to the lovely Louisa from LouisaDays for tagging me to do the I Heart Summer Tag. Here it is Louisa!

1. Favourite bronzer for summer?
Mac Mineralised Skin Finish in Medium Dark.

2. You're relaxing on a hammock on a tropical island, what would you be sipping on?
An ice cold slushie! Or a nice cocktail.

3. Favourite summer lipstick?
Tough one. I love lipstick! I don't now if I would say it's my favourite, but the Revlon Lip Butter in Tooti Frutti is a lovely summery coral shade and it's not too heavy!

4. Pool or beach?
Another tough one. I love both. I can't pick! It will have to be both.

5. Summer = crazy hair, what's your must have styling product?
I really don't like blow drying my hair or styling it without a heat defence spray. At the minute I've been using a Tresemmé one. But the Aussie one is good too.

6. Sun bathing or fake tanning?
Tan wise, I'd fake it! I only ever wear tan for a night out, (or maybe if I've got my legs out and they look a bit pale). But I do love to sunbathe just to sit in the sun and maybe read a book or flick through a magazine. So both I suppose.

7. Favourite summer nail polish?
I really like one of the new Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Nail Paint in Papaya. It's a pretty peachy coral.

8. Any summer traditions?
Nope! But I have been really enjoying spending some days at the beach this year. Maybe I should make that a tradition to try and go to the beach every summer!

9. Favourite summer scent?
Marc Jacobs Oh Lola is really fresh and floral. Perfect for summer.

10. Favourite BBQ food?
Probably Sausages! Haha! Yum.

11. Favourite summer proof make-up?
The Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation because it is light, with good coverage and has spf 15 so you get protection too!

12. Any summer vacations planned?
No, I wish! Although I am going to Leeds for a few days in August to stay with a friend from Uni. I've never been before, and I hear the shops are amazing there so I can't wait! I'll definitely be going shopping. I'm really excited for a reunion with my Uni buddies and a good night out because it's been too long!

I tag Jennifer from Silly Little Pictures! Good luck Jennifer, some of these I had to really think about.

Thanks for stopping by!

Niamh vs Shops

Blue Vanilla at New Look £10 in Sale

Well that felt good! This summer, I've been a bit on the broke side. So believe it or not, I really have been cutting back on shopping. It was hard and I don't like it. But now I've rewarded my self with a little splurge. (I also got a little addition to my Irregular Choice shoe collection which I'm so excited to show you in a separate post soon. Ekk!) I think this could be a sign of an addiction but after a while of holding back in the shops, when I left today with all my pretty new things in my hands I felt a sense of relief and satisfaction. At the minute I'm reading "Confessions of a Shopaholic" and I have to say, I can completely relate. Becky Bloomwood, I think we could be friends.

In Boots I got myself a few bits that I've heard great things about from blogs, so decided to pick them up and try them out. I can't wait to try out a smokey eye with my new Real Technique Starter Eye Kit! Let me know if anyone has tried any of the products and how you found them!

After a friend recently got a job in The Body Shop, I've been doing nothing but fantasizing about what I can get with the 50% discount! This has lead to a new obsession and I'm slowly creating a little collection. Today I added to my Aloe collection with the Protective Serum. There is 50% off the body butters at the minute also so I thought I would stock up while there cheap with the Pink Grapefruit one. A girls gotta moisturize!

I was really happy with my New Look dress I found for just £10. I absolutely love a collar especially on dresses, it adds a little prepy touch to a basic dress. The picture doesn't pick up on it very well but it is actually a drop helm dress which I have been looking for lately. I thought they were a cute alternative to the skater dress and for £10 in the sale, it was calling my name.

I have been looking for a black bag recently too because although I love my vintage one, sometimes I need a bag that is slightly bigger. Also when a brown bag dosen't seem right with an outfit I can pick up my black Deena and Ozzy one! I was drawn to this bag because of the pretty satchel style strap and shape, but it looked a little different, almost like a vintage look. You know I love my vintage.

Whoever named shopping "Retail Therapy" was completely right. It is a therapy like no other. If someone would like to pay me so I can do it all the time, that would be great, thanks.

Have you done any shopping lately?
